Can I rent a vehicle on behalf of someone else?
• No, the person paying for the rental must be the main driver.

Can I be met at a train or bus station?
• We can pick you up from a train or bus station in Edinburgh or Midlothian during office hours at no additional cost. Additional costs apply for deliveries outwith office hours.

What do I do if I have a problem during the rental that happens out of business hours?
• If your issue is related to a mechanical problem (flat tyre, dead battery, accident, etc.) please contact the motoring organisation indicated on your rental agreement. If you have an issue that is not mechanical please contact the office that you rented from during office hours for assistance.

Can I tow with the vehicle?
Subject to availability, we can supply a vehicle capable of towing a suitably constructed trailer. Under no other circumstances may our vehicles be used for towing.

Can I trade my vehicle in?

Do you offer leasing?
• We offer several options for leasing on a wide range of vehicles. See ‘Types Of Hire’.
Do you provide a one way rental?
• We regret we cannot offer this facility outwith the Edinburgh area. All vehicles must be returned to one of our rental offices in Edinburgh or Midlothian.
Are there any mileage restrictions?
• Hires of 3 days and more enjoy unlimited mileage.
• Shorter hires have an allowance of 200 free miles per day.
Van Hire
• Notwithstanding the purchase of Collision Damage Waiver, you are liable for all costs incurred for loss or damage to the vehicle, its accessories, Third Party vehicle(s) and property when either:
• The vehicle was being reversed unattended or
• The impact occurred above the height of the windscreen.
I left something in the vehicle, how can I get it back?
• Please contact the rental office to where you returned the vehicle and our agent will do their best to locate the item for you.
What do I do if I lose the keys or lock myself out?
• Contact the motoring organisation indicated on your rental agreement. If they are unable to assist you, contact the rental office from where you collected the vehicle.
What do I do in the event of an accident?
• All vehicles are supplied with a pack outlining the procedures to follow in the event of an accident.
How often are your vehicles serviced?
• All our vehicles are serviced in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications. Additionally all vehicles undergo a safety check prior to each rental.

What type of vehicles do you rent?
• We rent cars, from an economic 4-seat car to a luxury 4x4. We also sent 6, 7 and 9-seat vehicles and a range of light commercial vehicles. Please browse our website for more information, or contact one of our rental offices. One of our agents will be happy to discuss your requirements with you.
Can I specify the make and model?
• While we cannot guarantee a particular model, every effort will be made to supply the vehicle group reserved. If this is not possible, a more expensive vehicle will be supplied if available, at no extra charge.
Do you rent vehicles with automatic transmission?
• We have a range of vehicles with automatic transmission available for hire. See the options in ’Quck Hire Quote’.
Can I smoke in the hired vehicle?
• We operate a strict ‘No Smoking’ policy for all of our hired vehicles. Additionally it is illegal to smoke in a van in UK.
How safe is the personal information I have given you?
• Our website utilises Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology on transactional pages. SSL is an Internet standard used on most e-commerce sites during transactions to guard private user information such as credit card numbers.
Can you provide child seats?
• We can supply child seats, subject to availability. Please let us know your requirements when making your reservation. Please note that, for reasons of liability, it will be your responsibility to fit the child seat to the hired vehicle.
Do you have any cleaning charges?
• Under normal circumstances we do not make a charge for cleaning the vehicle. However, where there is heavy soiling (eg food or drink spillage, animal hairs) a charge will be made.
What is not covered by the insurance?
• You are liable in full for damage to tyres, wheels, aerials, glass and the interior of the vehicle.
• You are liable in full where loss or damage occurs due to negligence by the hirer
My credit card provides insurance cover for hired vehicles.
• Some credit card companies will offer cover for any excess amount. In order to benefit from this you must refuse our Collision Damage Waiver. However, please be aware that, although your credit card provider may ultimately recompense you, we will hold you liable for the excess in the first instance.
Can I use my own vehicle insurance policy to cover the hire vehicle?
• If you are a business user you may be able to add the hire vehicle to your ploicy.
• It is unlikely that a private vehicle policy will cover you while driving a hired vehicle, and in fact most policies specifically exclude such cover.
• Additionally, motor policies issued outside UK are not valid in this country.
Can I pay Collision Damage Waiver to reduce my excess liability?
• Collision Damage Waiver, to reduce your excess liability, is an option which is available to most hirers at £5 per day.
How much is the insurance excess?
• The vehicle is fully insured against Comprehensive risks. As with most insurance policies an excess applies. Generally this amount is £1000 for cars and £2000 for vans.

What is included in the price?
• The price is for the rental of an insured vehicle and includes vat, maintenance, oil, motoring club membership and road fund licence, but excludes fuel.
What are your licence requirements?
• A full valid driver’s licence which has been held for at least one year must be produced at the time of hire.
• New DVLA Photo Card Licence - This type of licence can only be accepted with both the Photo Card and Counterpart Document.
• Certain endorsements may be accepted at the discretion of the Rental Office.
• Overseas hirers must produce a licence valid in their own country which can be understood by our Rental Agents, or an International Driving Permit.
• Two additional forms of identification are also required.
What other identification do you require?
• Hirers residing in UK – we require 2 items from this list: utility bill, bank statement, credit card statement, passport, police warrant card. Bills and statements must be within the last month.
• Non-UK residents must present a valid passport and a credit card.
What are your age restrictions?
• Drivers must be aged 21-70.
• Special conditions apply to drivers aged 21-24.
• Not all groups vehicles are available to hirers aged 21-24.
• Drivers over 70 may be accepted subject to Insurance Company approval.
What if I need to keep the vehicle beyond the agreed hire period?
• You should contact the rental office before the original hire period expires to organise payment with your credit card for the extended period.
Do I have to pay parking tickets or city congestion charges?
• If you are liable for City Congestion Charges or receive a Parking Ticket during your hire it is important that you pay it within the time specified. You will have signed a Statement of Liability and if you do not pay the Fixed Penalty as indicated on the ticket we are legally obliged to furnish the appropriate authorities with your full details. This will usually result in a fine greater than the original Fixed Penalty amount.
• Additionally we will charge you an administration fee.
I need to cancel a reservation – how much will that cost me?
• Provided you give us at least 48 hours notice no charge is normally made for most reservations.
• Charges will apply for foreign-travel hires when required documentation has been supplied.
Can I return the vehicle outside office hours?
• Your agreement with us stipulates that you are responsible for the hired vehicle until returned to the physical custody of our agents. We recommend that you return the vehicle during office hours. If you are unable to do this please ensure you have parked the vehicle safely and legally, that you have removed all your personal belongings and that the vehicle is secure. A key drop facility is provided at our offices.
Can I have additional drivers?
• Additional drivers can be added to the rental, subject to their conforming to our normal hirer criteria. All drivers must be present at the time hiring, and all drivers are required to present a current, valid driving licence and two acceptable forms of identification.
Can I take the vehicle abroad?
• You may not take the vehicle outside mainland UK without our prior written consent. Please contact any of our rental offices with your requirements for a fully inclusive quote.
What is your fuel policy?
• We will ask you to confirm the fuel level of your vehicle when you collect it. We ask you to return it to us at the same level, or to pay us for any shortfall. The price per litre is displayed in our hire office. We cannot reimburse you for excess fuel left in the vehicle.
Do you provide breakdown cover?
• All our vehicles have motoring club membership. In the unlikely event of a breakdown you should telephone the number indicated on your rental agreement. This number is available 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.
Do you offer delivery and collection?
• We can pick you up from your office or home address in Edinburgh or Midlothian during office hours at no additional cost. Additional costs apply for deliveries outwith office hours. Paperwork is completed at our office.

Do you offer an airport meet and greet service?
• We can deliver your vehicle to Edinburgh airport during office hours at no additional cost. Additional costs apply for deliveries outwith office hours.
• We also have an airport drop-off service, with free transport to the airport departure area.

What will I pay in addition to my online quote?
• The price quoted online is for the rental of an insured vehicle and includes vat, maintenance, oil, motoring club membership and road fund licence.
• We also offer, subject to availability: collision Damage waiver; child seats; satellite navigation systems. Additional costs apply.
• You are liable to pay for fuel used during the period of the hire.
What are your office hours?
• Our offices are open: Monday – Friday 8am – 6pm
• Saturday & Sunday 8am – 1pm
• We are closed 25 & 26 December and 1 & 2 January
Do you guarantee a particular model of vehicle?
• While we cannot guarantee a particular model, every effort will be made to supply the vehicle you have reserved. If this is not possible, a more expensive vehicle will be supplied if available, at no extra charge
